Yoshinogawa (Yoshinogawa) is a city located in the northeastern part of Tokushima prefecture.
It is located in the northern part of Tokushima Prefecture. It is a city formed by integrating Kamojima-cho in Asae-gun, Kawashima-cho in Asae-gun, Yamakawa-cho in Asae-gun, and Misato-mura in Asae-gun due to the great merger of Heisei in 2004.
Awa City, which is adjacent across the Yoshino River to the north, has strong administrative connections such as the Awa Yoshinogawa Police Station and the Tokushima Central Wide Area Union, and in contrast to the fact that there are no expressways passing through Yoshinogawa City, there are also strong connections in terms of traffic, as there are no railways passing through Awa City, so they are dependent on mutual facilities. There are 5 bridges and 2 submersible bridges between Awa City, and mutual movement is very active.
Also, while the city functions as a major city in western Tokushima prefecture, some administrative agencies and judicial institutions such as the Yoshinogawa Summary Court and the Awa Yoshinogawa Police Station exist in Kawashima Town, and a certain degree of dispersion can be seen. The distance from Yoshinogawa City Hall to Tokushima Honcho is 19.7 km, and the entire city belongs to the Tokushima metropolitan area, and the city center corresponds to the Kamojima-cho area before the merger. Kamoshima Station, the train station with the most users in the city, and the city hall are located there.
In 2020, the complex facility Yoshinogawa Civic Plaza was newly established in front of Kamojima Station, and it began to function as the center of the local community, which combines a library with study rooms, an arena where multiple competitions such as futsal and volleyball can be played, training facilities, regional sports clubs, conference rooms and multipurpose rooms, and a coworking office that is a place for venture companies and students to exchange opinions.
