Thoughts put into TOTTA

What kind of service is TOTTA

TOTTA is a cameraman search platform to connect professional photographers (photographers who take photos, videographers who shoot videos) and individuals and companies looking for professional photographers.
The most important point was that all registered creators are professionals who have passed the TOTTA review.

The first requirement for screening for registration is that you work as a photographer, and it includes film screening and background confirmation.

What kind of people are expected to use it

As for demand, I think it can be mainly divided into two, and one is cameramen for business photography. It is a record of events such as taking company brochures on websites, profile photos, and seminars.
Next, the wedding photographer. As is the case with the wedding itself, it is the shooting, production, and pre-shooting of the profile movie associated with it.

When it comes to weddings, the snapshot photographer on the day is the photographer designated at the ceremony hall, and there are times when you can't choose a cameraman while looking at the work, and when it's a restaurant wedding, 1.5 or 2 meetings, there are often no photographers at all, so it's not recorded, so I definitely want a professional wedding photographer to take photos and videos.

Also, for professional-oriented people who want their family photos taken by professionals, you can also search for photographers who are good at shooting kids and families.

Please tell me the reason for your obsession with “being a professional”

I myself began going out to the field with a camera in my hand in 2007 when I entered university, then became independent in 2011, started working for magazines, and then set up a photographer office in 2014 that mainly focuses on business photography.
As you can see, I myself have been in the cameraman industry for a long time, but since the internet, smartphones, and SNS became popular in recent years, information on photographers has exploded, and conversely, I have come to think that finding professional photographers has become difficult.

I think the amount of information has increased so much that it has become difficult to sift through.
It was around that time that I often received comments from clients saying, “I searched for a photographer on the internet, but I couldn't meet a good person” or “I found a photographer with a low fee, so I requested one, but it didn't turn out the picture I had in mind.”

In other words, there was a mismatch between the cameraman and the client.
Therefore, since I am a professional myself, I decided to create a matching service that specializes in professionals, and TOTTA development started.
Professional photographers, whose main business is client work, are good at listening to customer requests and providing requests in the form of photographs and videos.

That's why I think TOTTA, which is limited to professional photographers, is a service that can be used with peace of mind.

Is it difficult to meet a good photographer as much as offering it as a service

In fact, at photography sites, I often hear the concerns of clients, such as “I often see “good photos” in the world, but it's hard to meet a good photographer. There are also cases where some of our clients have dealt with have caught their eye on my photo published in a magazine, found my signature written in a small corner of the page, and contacted me via the publisher. Even though there is so much information about photographers, I thought it would be extremely wasteful not to be able to get to the cameraman without making this much effort.
One reason I launched TOTTA is that as someone involved in photography, I want to create an environment where it is easy for everyone to access “good photos and videos.”

There are many similar photographer matching services, but what are the differences

The most characteristic of TOTTA is that it is not a “anyone can register” service, and since certain standards such as work screening are set for registration, it is easy to meet professional creators.

I think TOTTA has a higher budget compared to other services. One reason is that amateurs and side workers are not allowed to register.
There is a point where amateur photographers, sideline photographers, and professional photographers are mixed in some matching services. Of course, there is also a need for side jobs to “easily earn money with photos of their choice in their spare time,” and I think it's good that even users can use the service at a reasonable price.

Professionals can't beat amateurs because of cheapness. This is because I do photography as a job, and I live my life. There are many cases where the fees presented on the internet are far from the market price, and there was one aspect where almost no professional photographers registered, and although they were registered, they were unable to fully utilize the service.
Meanwhile, since TOTTA is limited to professionals, we are trying to avoid the fact that it is too cheap in terms of fees as much as possible and make it possible to search for good creators.

Is there anything I should be careful about in order to meet the creators that users are looking for

Different creators are good at different genres.
For example, when it comes to photographers, there are photographers who are good at portraits (portraits), and photographers who are good at still lifes (shooting products and food menus), even if they have an almighty track record as professionals. Even when taking pictures of still lifes, the way to take pictures is different depending on the product and cooking menu.

Therefore, it is very important to properly check your achievements on your profile beforehand, and check the genres you are good at and the genres you usually shoot as the main subjects in your messages.

Please leave a message at the end

The main reason I created TOTTA was that I wanted to create an environment where I could meet good creators. I want to reduce the number of “lost creators” that don't meet good creators, even by one person.

We will do our best so that many people can use the TOTTA service. We look forward to working with you.
