My name is Hori Akira (Hori Akira).
I work as an “animal photographer,” but I also take pictures of people and landscapes.
Since 2002, I have published my works in gravure for dog and cat magazines, scientific journals, and weekly magazines.
The transition to a photographer from another industry called the cram school industry may be unique as a career,
I've been inspired by animals since before,
I'm convinced that animal photography, which depicts the appearance of life, is a vocation.
In the early 2000s, I lived to sleep and eat with 127 “half-free range” dogs at a ranch in Yatsugatake,
I had a special experience of closely observing that behavior.
This triggered me to explore dog psychology and behavior as part of my life's work.
Up to now, we have published 7 dog-related books.
Fortunately, behavioral knowledge and experience can be useful when shooting.
You can predict the dog's behavior ahead of time.
This “foresight” is an important factor when shooting moving subjects.
Also, if you understand that psychology and behavior to some extent, you won't impose extra tension on the subject,
