Photographer Shohei Higashihara Shohei Higashihara (Shohei Higashihara)
Born in 1977. Lives in Tokyo. After graduating from the Visual Arts College, he became independent in 2012 after working as an assistant. We are active mainly in advertisements, magazines, corporate sites, recruitment sites, school guides, etc.
I usually shoot commercials in general. Advertisements, recruitment sites, corporate sites, school guides, etc. After that, there are lots of snaps of products, food, events, etc.
I became a cameraman in 2008, and became independent in 2012. Photography itself wasn't in earnest until I entered a vocational school.
I entered a vocational school in 2003, and until then I had only taken pictures with disposable cameras when I went on trips.
I didn't have a camera, but I had a feeling within myself that I liked taking pictures.
At a time when I quit my job and moved from one part time to another, I began to think about what I wanted to do, and then I suddenly remembered photography.
Then I entered a photography college and began studying photography in earnest. I bought my first single-lens reflex camera since entering a vocational school, and at the time, film cameras were the mainstream, and I bought a Nikon film camera, but taking pictures was so much fun that I couldn't take many pictures, but I was obsessed with shooting.
After I graduated from a vocational school, I joined a photo studio and worked as a photographer's assistant. In the studio, I learned about the flow of photography and lighting techniques. After I left the studio, I joined a photo office and was also allowed to work as an assistant in photography.
There was a time when I vaguely wanted to be a school teacher.
I want to keep doing my current job. Because I love shooting. After that, I want to be able to leave my personal photographs in shape. I think it would be nice if I could express myself freely, which is different from the photos I take at work.
